Thanks for the info. I wish I could see the pics that you guys have posted but I don't have privileges to see them yet. I like the look of the Kuryakyn light, not sure weather i would go with the smoked or just red.

I used the crome mounting piece that the HD taillight screwed onto and shaved it down so the license plate frame could be mounted flat onto it. The new license plate is now mounted right over were the taillight used to be. I covered the 3 old plate bracket holes with a tribal piece from kuryakyn.
Nice... Thanks for the info. Sounds like the route I may be taking.
No, I was running the bulb that came with the taillight, but it was a stardard bulb. I put it on in September, and noticed the plastic bubbling in February.
i ordered a tail from doc v twin a sponser on here and made it work... i also opened up the led board and added turn sigs to it
Sorry to hijack this thread. but Joe which taillight is that? I did not see it on the website. Did it come in chrome? I assume you powder coated it. besides the turn signals did you do any mods for mounting. I was looking for a curved taillight frame when I got mine but could not find one at a reasonable price. That looks great.
I've always wondered about a Tombstone taillight for my FXD. I think something like this would look pretty good: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/3400591 I just don't know if that or another one would allow me to bolt it on directly without having to do any bodywork.
