From my reading on this site, that is the norm for this company....Poor communication.
I'm looking into using a separate fan kit with a Jagg cooler, but might wait until late spring to make my decision. That should give UltraCool enough time to market the product that they claimed would be available a month or so ago.
With that combination, I think you're still a pretty good candidate for the 100/100 club ... and the relative cost of the pistons (~$200 - ~300) will be significantly less than the crank ... and a lot less work (either yours or someone else paid) to split the cases and replace the crank ....
I would think that your project could be done by you within a 48 hr period (i.e., two full days in the garage) if you have everything ready to go .... I did my big bore over two days time ....
IMHO, your '05 motor is 'strong enough' and durable enough to 'handle' the mods you are contemplating ... but, don't take it from me ... I don't race and build my own race bikes like everyone else who's posting their advice .... (
)Although I would hesitate to call what you got a screamin' deal, it does not seem like a particularly onerous or unfair price ....
