Yeah, the more responses I get the more Common Sense is the main theme. What I want and what I can afford are two entirely different things. Thanks.

The Road Glide Custom is an awesome machine, and the HD I would want to get to keep my '00 FXDL company. Having said that, the pricing between the SG and RG seems a bit whacked.

Also consider used as there are bargains out there. A lightly used 2010 RG in mint condition was recently listed for 17K in the Classified section. If your heart is set on a RG consider a used 2010 or 2011 instead of new. If you can get a decent price for the Fat Bob, maybe the $ increase won't be so bad.

As for it being too big a bike, I wouldn't be concerned. That bike is as easy to ride as your dyna.

Have a 2010 FatBob which is not only my first Harley, but my first bike ever. The bike is great. Love riding it. Have only had it since April of this year. Just getting the itch for a new one I guess. Sound familiar?

Dealer is REALLY wanting to deal, but the payment increase will KILL ME and possibly cause the Wife to leave. That IS a big deal, since we've been married 25 years as of this week. Pmt will almost double. Not really looking forward to that big of a jump in payment, however. But with 2x the bike I know it will be worth the investment in the end.

The 2011 is loaded. What I should have gotten originally was was to chicken S#!T to get due to what I originally thought was too big of a bike.

Looking for someone to knock some sense into me about this. Am I jumping too soon on such a bigger bike? Or do I need to just cool it for awhile and see what happens after the 1st of the year.

Is a used street glide out of the question? You can pick one up for $15k all day long!

You can fit a hell of a lot of gear and wind protection on a Dyna for a lot less money than a new bagger will cost. Believe me, I get that making the wife happy is a big deal, but in this case its really not hard to just load up your existing bike with a few add ons that come right off when you want a cleaner, lighter ride. And its quite a bit cheaper. This picture and my sig picture are a whopping 10 minutes worth of effort.

I think everyone gets that kinda itch once and awhile.

I wanted a Harley so bad earlier this spring when I still had my Kawasaki. Wanted a LR or a SB and just about everytime I saw a nice one I wanted to jump on it despite the price and the fact it may bankrupt me.

Luckily I was able to hold off 'til this late fall. Came to my senses, found a bike a year older than what I was looking for, but I'm damn glad I did. I love the bike and I saved my financial status which is huge!

It hurts alot, but sometimes ya gotta wait!

It is a psychological fact that as soon as you replace this "want", another new "want" will take its place. Stick with what you got.

Dude, what the???? you only just got the bike, it is a great bike, and you are looking for a new one already. You say that it may hurt you financially and with your wife and it is right before christmas when you could spend the money more wisely and maybe someone got you stuff for the bike you have... not sure why you need someone on here to talk sense into you. I am sure you already know the right thing to do. Just do it (the right thing that is)!

Oh and in case you still having trouble... Keep your bike
