colder weather gloves??
These gloves keep my hands warm down into the mid to upper 30's, they are waterproof and not too bulky.

GORE-TEX® Pinnacle Gloves
I also wear a pair of silk glove liners under the gloves when the temp get down into the low 30's and colder.

Problem for me is I can't deal with bulk on the palm/fingers. I need to feel what I'm touching.
I bought some gloves that have a lining on top, but not on the palm and even though the fingers are slightly vented, it's good for me for 30's. Probably not for most though.
I require my gloves to actually be protective, not just warm so I'm having a harder time.
Ones I bought are Dainese Hellracer. Not flashy at all in their black/black/black configuration, and definately not bulky. Extremely protective and armored though.
If you want warmth and safety, I'd theck their products out. Available at most BMW dealers, but very hard to find a deal on them.
Paid $140 for mine, but my hands are worth it.

Tip: Wear standard rubber gloves underneath any pair of gloves for instand warmth. Ya know, the $.10 a pair kind.
Most of my winter rides are short, so I don't know if this could be bad long term, but it's a super cheap helper.

Hey sc_compact that's a sweet ride. What kind of bags are those? Is that the Harley seat with the backrest too? Looks real long haul comfy.

Those are a set of Boss Bags. I have about 18000 miles on the bags and they are holding up great. They have been out in the rain for hours on end and they keep the contents pretty much dry.
Last year I did Sturgis (about 400-500 miles a day) on the stock seat but my butt was alittle tired by the end of each day.
The seat that I now have is a Corbin Dual Tour. I just put it on about 1000 miles ago. It is very firm but I think with a couple of thousand more miles it should be a really good all day seat plus I really like the leather.
I had tried a Mustang Wide Solo and I guess I am one of the few people who did not like the Mustang. I didn't feel like I could really sit back with the Mustang and if I nailed the throttle I felt like I was going to slide off the seat. The Corbin really holds me in place and I hope that the leather will just get better with age.
I am hoping to do Sturgis again next year and I will most probably get the backrest for the seat before the trip.
I too have the same bike in an 06 and Chopper Blue. I put on the Mustang Vintage Solo and it fits me perfect but have wondered about a backrest option for those long days. I have the standard height windshield (clamp on) and just got the race download put in today after installing SE-2 pipes and air cleaner myself last nite. I rode 5k stock and finally decided to put on the pipes and I'm not sure if it's faster but it sure is LOUDER! I'm looking at saddle bags this Winter and those look like a nice fit. Very nice bike.
