Changing tins-some progress today
Swapped front fender,stripped headlite to the bare shell and swapped into the newly painted shell. Disassembling connector was the hardest part. Pulled old tank,removed internals and swapped to the new tank and installed new tank. Installed newly chromed tank console. Still got the rear fender to do,it just got too cold in that unheated barn.
This has taken a while but I've ended up with somewhere around thirteen or fourteen hundred dollars in this swap including paintwork and I still got the old tins to sell so I'm pretty pleased.
These pics aren't that great but it'll give you an idea of what the final look will be. The paint is blood-red metallic and it's darker than it shows in the pics with flash.

Gulf Coast, "Just got too cold in a unheated barn"??????? It's 22 degrees here and I'm tryin to figure out how to attach a ski and stud the tire for 6 inches of snow...
