Default baker bearing problem

I have a 2006 dyna wideglide I am changing over from the stock IPB to the sealed baker bearing. Something is not right the baker bearing just slips on to darn easy.
I think it should at least press on with a bit of effort on my part.
Now I am just sliding the bearing on the shaft, I have not pressed the bearing into the inner primary case as of yet. When I do that will the bearing go on tighter Then?
Because If it were that loose I'm pretty sure that it would skate on The shaft.
Anyone.
Thanks

No, it doesnt need to be. It wont walk in or out because it is locked in place within the primary cover by a snap ring on both sides. Many guys on here have them installed on their bikes. My current build got one installed while it was apart.

It is a precision fit, not a press fit.

Not taking about walking back and forth. Talking about the inner race spinning on the shaft.
That would not be good.

Your stock bearing slipped over the sleeve on your tranny the same way, except the stock race can walk and its a junky bearing also.

Install it and know you have a much better bearing than stock! No worries at all with it.

No it will not. If that was the case it wouldn't last to the end of the block.

The inner race is a slip fit and can spin on the shaft but it doesn't when under load. I have one in mine and put close to 5k miles on it before my rotor failed and ate the stator. I looked it over very closely when I had it apart and there was no sign of anything wrong with the bearing or the shaft.

Bringing this thread back to life for a related question:

Would the Harley dealers generally install a Baker IPB or is it only going to be independent shops that would be putting non-harley parts into a harley bike? I want to bring this up with my dealer as an option for fixing my IPB but Im curious if it is normal for them to do something like this or not.

Thanks!

If its warranty work they have to use HD parts or they won't get paid, out of warranty, dealers I have dealt with will put anything you want it if you pay for it

Warrant work is a joke. They charge you labor (alot) and will ONLY use crapola HD parts. I rebuilt my primary with a Screamin Eagle Compensator/Rotor Upgrade/ Stator Upgrade/ Tensioner Upgrade/ Clutch Spring Upgrade, and a Baker Bearing upgrade for just $100 bux more than what HD would "warranty the known 06 charging stator problems"

Now my primary works like it should and the sloppy OEM compensator is gone, the bolted rotor is gone, the crappy ensioner is gone, and the known crappy IPB bearing is gone. As a bonus I didnt have to let a HD monkey touch my bike. Well, Only the monkey who rides it....Me
