Burleigh Bars have a new product coming out that is specifically designed for the FXD. It's not on their website yet. If you google Burleigh Bomber bars you will find links to a couple of youtube videos
Check out Flanders. They have a huge selection. Sounds like the Swept Back Flat Track Bars (J5) might work. The specs are: Rise : 4.25", Pullback: 11", Center 7", Width 31".
The Rivco Pullback Risers will not work on the FXD 2006 and up. The Speedo mount top clamp has a lip that gets in the way. I tried them, took photos, talked to Rivco, they agreed, took them back with a full refund. This product will only fit the 2005 and older FXD.

Thanks for that additional tidbit, we were leanin towards the Flanders bars, that just helped nudge it over
When they arrived it was obvious that they were way too wide. Way too wide. Felt like you were riding a surfboard. Close your eyes, put your arms out, that's how it was. Sent them back.
Here is my suggestion. Go to your Harley dealer. Order a Solo reach seat. That puts you two inches closer to the bars. Sit on a FXDC. See how the FXDC bars are a two inch pull back when compared to the FXD's bar. Order a FXDC handlebar. The combination of the reach seat and FXDC bar will shortten your wife's reach to the handlebars by four inches.
You will not need longer cables for this change out. You could sell the stock seat on Ebay for $25-$50. Your wife will be pleased.

My wife has similar issues with her 08' Dyna SG Custom stock buckhorns (and is close to replacing her bars after researching/testing a few) mentioned she should go to a Harley dealer where many now have a handlebar "display" as she did.
Basically you sit on a bike and they can change out the bars with several different types so you can get a feel for them. She mentioned that although not originally interested in the apes she found the 12" mini apes Harley offers to be very comfortable but the Swingbacks they offer are really comfortable.
She is somewhat tallish at 5'7" and already has a "reach" type seat from Corbin. She thinks your wife should try out the Swingbacks and that she will probably like them...and it may end up saving some $ in the end if you just go with the HD line that you can try out first..
I am considering these for my '10 FXDC...any cable issues on install? Any mods required on install? Thanks in advance for any install tips.
Zero cable issues mcwarren, zero mods required. A very simple 10 minute job. Rivco even includes detailed instructions so even a klutz like me had no problem. I had my son hold the bars while I swapped out the risers but that was more about father-son bonding than necessity. Easy enough just to put a blanket on the tank and lay 'em on it.
I couldn't recommend them enough. Plus, they look like they were always on the bike. They kinda disappear from sight if you don't know they're there.
