Default New Bars installed on FXD

I got these bars from JP cycles. They are the "Low custom" but they are not so low. The pull back is much less than the stock bars and it is about 3" wider. The only thing that sucked was the brake line did not quite make it. I thought for sure they would because the bars are only like 1" higher and are a little wider. I hand bendt the brake line at the bar a tad and pushed it up in the tripple clamp about 1/2". I will eventually get +2" SS lines but none of the Hrley Dealers had them in stock so I had to jimmy it a bit until I can get a set.

These bars are VERY comfy. Your wrists are no longer twisted inwards and the width is nice for leverage.

I almost forgot
PN 5000070 $34.99

I also forgot to mention that I dropped a wrench on the tank and have a little ding in the clearcoat by the gas cap! [:@]

Barely noticeable but it is there and is easily fixed.

Anybody know where I can get +2" brake lines for the front?

Yep. As it turns out I covered the controls when they were dangling along side of the bike and wrapped the lvers so I did not scratch the frame.

Like I said though, the ding is very small and is just in the clear coat. I could probably wipe it with alcohol and apply a little dab of clrae with a tooth pick and buff it out.

That the correct price on those bars? Since you had to make the brake line "reach" any problems with steering? I was thinking of adding 1' pulledback risers on mine. But if the lines don't reach I may have to wait until I save some $$ for the SS lines.

Yep Correct price. Great quality for the price too. The bar is noticably thicker wall then the stockers.
J&P cycles direct link to handlebar

No problems with steering because the brake lines are self contained on the front fork. If it was a clutch/wiring issue there would be a steering problem. I do want to get 2" longer steel brake lines for it now just to look cleaner but it would not go without tweaking the solid part of the OEM brake line. I was surprised because, although different from stock, it is not all that different. Keep in mind that I did not have to alter it drastically but I did have to alter it.

I took it for a test ride since I first posted and Mann, what a difference in Handling and comfort. The bike feel more responsive (I am assuming because of the increased leverage on the bar and the slight foward weight bias) . If I hit a big bump now my spine does not take the blow as bad either. The slight (and I mean slight) foward lean allows my hips to take the blow withought sending a shockwave up my spine. I am very happy with the Bar. Just wish the installation went a tad smoother with the brake line issue.
