I am in the process of choosing a set of ape hangers for my 2010 FXDC. I am not sure what center width to go with, and don't have access to my bike to measure the triple trees because it's in winter storage at the local shop (go ahead, take your shots, i'm not proud of it). I want a set that is the same width as the triple trees. I am most likely going with a set of 14" bars. Could someone tell me the outside width of their trees? Also anyone with pics of a similar set up would be appreciated.
put on a set 0f Hill Country 14" narrow apes and they look and fit great. They matched up very nice with the triple trees!!! I have a 09 fxdc so should be about the same. Hope this helps some!!!
Yep, about 11". I personally like the look of narrow apes because I don't like the base sticking way out past the trees, but many folks put wider base apes on and they look good as well.
I went with 14" Santee 1 1/4" in black. They also come in chrome. These are were the only bars I could find in a 1 1/4" that came close to matching up with the trees. They are not dimpled so you have to internally wire them, but they come with a pull wire already ran through the bars so running the wiring is pretty easy.
