Snow is flying here in Utah, and I'm itching to go for a ride.
I think I'm going to Ape-hanger my Wide Glide.
I'd like to see pics of your rides if you've put ape hangers on your Wide Glide. Opinions about apes on the Wide Glide would be great too.
I like the look of apes on Road Kings, and the Dyna Bob.. I'm a little leary about the longer rake, taller thinner tire on the front of the WG not quite looking right.
I have an 03 wide glide. I am still working on. I will post some pictures in a couple of weeks when the project is completed. I have put 18 inch apes from HillCountry Custom Cycles on my ride with 1 1/2 inch risers. HILL Country has a great kit that is very well priced. Comes with wires already threaded in the bars, chrome controls and everything you need just under 700 bucks..... they look awesome. I am very pleased. Also I am having my paint sanded and buffed as well as putting new wheels and tires on her. I am getting shredder wheels from extreme machine. 3.25 x 21 on the front running a 120 metzler and 4.25 x 18 on the rear running a metzler 160 tire. I think the wider front wheel option will look muck better with the apes but that is my opinion. I like the looks just fine with the skinny tire as well.
I have 16in apes on mine. they are very comfortable. some states i have to pull them back a little while im there so my hand are even with my shoulders. im 5'8" or 5'9" depending on what 7-11 i'm at. that is the only thing that is a pain.
