Holy crap, I am spending way more money on the winter mods than I planned on!
I got the bike in December and the original plan was just to throw on some drag bars and go. The more I looked around, the more I realized I didn't like the mickey mouse look of the tach and speedo on the risers for the FXDX.....so hello ebay.
Now I am doing a full FXDL tank conversion, new paint (this is where the cost came in!), new taillight/turn signal assembly, new bars, new front turn sigs, new front mirrors, and a few other things I am sure I forgot to mention! Before and after pics will be posted when all is done, I have not been keeping an itemized list of the cost, but I'm sure it is more than I care to admit! I will have a boatload of FXDX stock parts for sale when I'm done.
o how i remember buying my bike, i said I just want a harley so bad, i am going to keep it stock......then......well this doesnt sound like a harley........well you cant just do pipes........seat sux........well bars are a little low........need tires why not wheels......well its only for comfort........what a great deal........durable powder coat.......needs more power........its hd......hundred dollars everytime I turn around....but hey I tell my wife at least its not another lady!!!
Yeah, one thing that could save me a few bucks is if I could find another option for the tail light/license plate. I am having the holes for the stock plate mount filled, and the only option I can find that integrates both the tail light as well as the license plate mount into the stock tail light location is the Cycle Visions Eliminator, and it's pricey!
