Are you in California? I think you're talking about the charcoal canister.

Purchased and registered the bike in Oregon but now living in Nevada. If its a charcoal canister is there any benifit to having it?

It soaks up the fumes that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere. Required in California, but I don't think anywhere else. Maybe your bike was a CA spec traded to an Oregon dealer. Or maybe they're all coming with them now... Won't hurt your bike to leave it or remove it, either way.

Oh yeah, nice bike and welcome to the group! I have a Mustang Vintage solo saddle on my bike too. Great seat, but mine is the plain style, not the bedazzled or bejeweled version, or whatever it was you called it. great looking bike! Many happy miles to you!
