Default timer cover for A/C insert

So I got a stock A/C cover that is now blacked out...and I put the black fat bob trim ring back on it. Looks good. well except for the bolt in the dead center... so I thought, I have the old timer cover (5 bolt) that says "Twin Cam USA" with the bar and shield in the center.
It is the perfect size to fit inside the trim ring and cover that bolt up.
So has anyone found a way to do this kind of mod?
I guess I would have to place some small bolts back into the timer cover maybe with a chrome/ spiked end nuts on the outside and the bolts on the inside. then find a way to connect the A/C bolt to the timer cover. it is inset by about a 1/4 inch ...
Something that would allow for the nut to keep the cover in place and be able to be tightend by the cover from the outside...
Let me know....

Sounds good, just gonna need to find the specific hardware. Post up a pic of the current cover so we can get a better idea.
