what are the bolt sizes on the timing cover? are they metric threads?
i bought that dark custom timing cover and went to instill it last night. it is thicker, so when i put the factory bolts back in and tried to tighten them, they started to strip at just the slightest amount of tightening.
good news is i put the original cover back on for the time being and the threads went in deeper and there is plenty to hold it tight.
so now i need to try to find some slightly longer bolts.
one other thing, is it a good idea to use thread lock on the timing cover bolts and also on the derby cover bolts when replacing covers?
