Default Rear Turn Signal Disassembly

Anyone tell me the process to dissasemble the rear turn signals? I scored a set of powder coated ones (thanks NKauf!) that I 'm finally getting around to installing. I need to get the guts out of my stockers. I'd like to get the wires out without cutting them if possible......... any way to take apart the connectors without special tools? or is it really just easier to cut the wires and solder them back together after?......

Here's a place to observe the exploded view of your pieces. It is not that hard to disassemble them and do the replacement

I actually did a few searches and found a couple really good threads on this topic (shoulda did that first I guess) - copied them here for anyone else who is trying to do this....... still sorta looks like cutting and soldering would be easier though............

If the grommet is vulcanized around the wires, cut it open carefully.

To pull the socket you could use this home made turn signal socket assembly extraction tool :

You simply squeeze it, hook up the pins into the notches where the bulb fits in................

.
.........and pull out gently the socket assembly:

I did my front and rear turn signals and trust me, it's not that hard to do it the right way. Your's should be even easier since, I believe, they plug into the rear turn signal. With mine I needed to drop the swing arm to get clearance up to the front of the rear fender (could have removed the fender but lowering the swingarm and jacking up the bike was easier) and even then it took me all of 30 minutes.
