Heard some guys discussing restrictions that HD is supposedly under with regard to doing work on 07 models with engine mods. The talk was along the lines of HD will not work on an 07 with any user-added engine mods unless the owner allowd HD to put it back to stock. Supposedly, they cannot let one out of the service door without facing severe fines (from whoever??) if caught.
This sounds obsurd. Anyone else hear anything like this? If it's remotely true, I'm sure glad I bought an 06!

Untrue. The verbiage in warranty section of the '07 Owner's Manual is pretty much a cut/paste from the '06 manual.
as an example, all of my options, pipes,a/c etc were dealer installed on the day of purchase and they will honor the warranty. the service manager even told me that they could build the bike to 110ci with harley parts and the bike will STILL be covered under warranty. I think it all depends on the individual dealer. they can pretty much do whatever they want to.
Your probably hearing about CA bikes the dealers are running scared they won't do jack to them as far as intake and exhaust mods.If you live in CA unless your bike is stock I'd stay away from the dealerships.
my dealer told me the warranty was no good with any pipes except screeming eagle. I think they just want to sell their parts and are having trouble with better made add-ons.
