Great write-up and congrats on the new bike. I pick mine (in Sedona Orange) up in 39 days!

I got my 10 WG after riding a 06 Street Bob for several years. I've really been surprised how much smoother the WG rides. The longer wheelbase is probably a factor, but the stock suspension on the 10 is a lot better (still room for improvement, of course). And I haven't had any issues with the narrow front tire following road grooves or anything like that.
I really enjoyed my Street Bob, but I have no regrets with trading it for the Wide Glide.

I've put 2.5 months and about 4,300 miles on my WG and love it. I come from riding a Sportster and found out the hard way a couple of days ago I just don't have the lean I had in the Sportster. Even so, the bike handles the twisties great, just can't push it quite as hard, and rides well. My Sportster had Road King air shocks on it so the ride on the Dyna is a little worse than my modified Sporty but far better than my stock Sportster shocks had been. Loving this bike more and more and can't wait to pay my taxes on it.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my 08 Sporty to the 2011 WG, but am concerned about how many people complain about dragging around corners. Is it just the right hand turns where this occurs, because of the pipes? I'm wondering if aftermarket pipes that sit higher would increase the lean angle and solve this problem. I love the looks of the V&H big radius pipes - do those sit higher? On my Sporty, I like to get low in the turns and have never scraped a peg, although occasionally I scrape my V&H short shots when there is a dip in the middle of a turn. But it's pretty rare.

Thanks,
Mark

My boot heels are wearing out but the pegs/pipes are still virgins after 5,000+ miles.

Got my new bike in april been lovin it.Scraping pegs or exhaust shouldnt be too much of a problem for the average rider. In my experience with bike you have to be riding fairly aggressive to scrape or hit dip in corner.I also adjusted my rear shocks a week in so bike is a bit firmer makes a big difference and bike rides smoother.

I used to scrape the factory pipes easily with a passenger... New pipes no more issues
