It's odd that it really is "stay around brown" - the Internet does not do justice to rootbeer. I wasn't all too happy that the FXDC in rootbeer was the only 2011 that we could get at work, but WOW. It is stunning in person. Just like the Sedona orange, once you see it in real life, you'll love it.
It ultimately comes down to you...and how much you want to talk about it and be different.
Where ever you go, people will walk over to talk to you about the color. They'll say they've never seen one like that, ask if it's a custom job, tell you how much they like it or even tell you they don't. A black bike is like all other black bikes...nobody cares.
I saw one at a dealer not too long ago and it was freaking sharp! Maybe a brown seat too?
If you can wait to see it in person, then wait. (and then when you want it, fake interest and see if they'll knock another $200 off....or more throw-ins).
Yeah, I'm pretty much sold on it now Also just looking at the post about the Avon white walls you made Punch, thinking that would be a pretty sharp look. I think I am going to give them a call tomorrow and take it.
Actually, I ran over to the main HD site and popped in to see a 2001 FXDC on the Bike Builder app. I put black pipes on, the brow seat, the brown pillion, black wheels, and a black AC.
NICE!
You could still black it out! Or like you said, chrome it to the 9's also.
Thanks for the White Walls comment.....problem is, even if we can convince Avon to make them, the new tire line won't hit the market until late 2011 (their 2012 line). Oh well, better late than never.

If you end up getting the Root Beer color scheme post some pictures. I think alot of us who haven't seen one in person would like to see real pictures instead of computer generated ones
