Default checking spoke torque

Does anyone do it? I went to a little get together at one of the local dealers and the service guy talked about how they check the torque of the spokes when they service\change your tire... does anyone check this at home? I looked in my service manual and was unable to find anything talking about specs that the spokes should be kept between.... does anyone check theirs? if so how do you do it?

According to the manual its 45-55 in-lbs. I just tap them with a wrench this should give you a nice ring. Snug up any that sound flat
