Default Duplicolor Shadow. Anyone used it?

Has anyone used this:
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/shadow/

It's a two part paint system from duplicolor, to make "black chrome". A base coat (black) the more you use the darker it will be, and then a clear coat on top.

It's made for painting directly on chrome. So I'm wondering if it holds up.
Anyone used it?

I just saw that on Gearz on the Speed Channel this morning. Product looks pretty cool and they were saying that it was easy to use and very durable. It can handle heat up to 250 degrees. If you due try it be sure to let us know how it worked....

I sure will. I saw it on the same show this morning I believe, that's what perked my interest. I dug up a few comments on here from a year or more ago, was hoping someone who had tried it back then would chime in on durability. I bought an extra fender for my Street Bob, with the tail light. I have the tail light off, and plan on trying it on there. Online (other websites) i've read varying reviews. Some say it works better on plastic-chrome. Others have said it works decent on real chrome, and you can even strip it off if you don't get the darkness you want....and start over with more base coat. I'll definitely post pics when I try it.

Dead thread revival!

I decided to try this on my stock exhaust shields since I had a dinged up set to play with.
First I cleaned them with some 0000 steel wool, then washed them off with brake cleaner, then cleaned them again with the Duplicolor prep spray and let them dry.
I put on 4 light coats of shadow allowing 20 minutes between each coat.
Now, that is too much, it almost looks like gloss black paint. Less is more here, Too much ruins the effect. I will try less coats (3 or 2) on the next parts. Next time I will have a clean chrome part to set next to the shadowed parts after each coat to compare to.
After an hour I put on 1 light coat and 20 minutes later one wet coat of clear.
I let these dry for 3 days before putting them on.

I know this stuff is not a high temp paint and I figured it would probably blister or peel from the heat. We will see. I put them on today and went for a 45 minute ride. When I got home the rear shield had changed color right near the cylinder head. It is almost a bronze color. It is hard to see in the picture.
I will leave them on for a while and see if they blister or peel.
Next I am going to try this on my rusty old chrome wheels. Then maybe the triple clamps and/or the frame extension covers.
Here are some pics before and after the ride.

Not bad. Think it could be wicked over like turn signal housings and dashes, esp on a black bike
