It's not just about racing...every hour I ride is more enjoyable on a lighter, quicker DYNA...

another way to drop over 20lbs from stock...get a V&H comp. series exhaust. 8lbs. vs over 30 for stock exhaust. Have no idea what you replacement exhaust weighs. http://www.vanceandhines.com/store/d...stems/75-108-9

It can be fitted on bikes older than 06.

I lost 146lbs by dieting and the gym. My bike feels so much quicker. Talk about some power gains.

And other performance areas that improves with weight loss include braking and handling. Horsepower increases acceleration but doesn't improve these others. Hmmmm, what would a RoadGlide diest consist of?

Like most have said...less weight equals improvements in areas such as acceleration, braking, handling..it does not equal more hp...JMO

If all things were equal (i.e. same hp/tq curves at the same rpm's, identical bike, same weight rider, same take-off time etc.) the lighter bike will win every time..

If i want to shave some pounds off the bike, i'll start eating salads. Cheaper than a new swingarm and better for me.

Yep. Back when I was tracking my car, that was the rule-of-thumb we used. 10lbs = 1 HP

As a completely unrelated side note, several years ago my old lady was watching one of those women's shows on TV and they were talking about how for every 35lbs a man loses, he gains 1" in length. When she asked me how much I was planning on losing, I told her about 700lbs.
