Default Help,,,wiring rear lights

Im doing the rear fender swap (Fat Bob with Wide Glide rear fender) . Im having a hard time with the wiring. Im usining plugs instead of wiring direct so I can keep the factory harness stock. Comming from the stock harness plug there is a

Black, grey, red and white, blue, purple and a orange and white. The black is just a ground and is split off into three for the left sig ,right sig and licends light.

I found through another member (thanks turbostang) how everything is suposed to go.

Left sig gets a black ,and the purple
Right sig gets a black and the orange and white
licends light gets a black and the grey wire

I wired the licends light first, it worked
Nexted I wired the plug for the left sig and its worked ,run ,turn ,stop

Then I noticed I did a crappy job making up one of the plugs so I redid it.

Now for some reason the left sig will not come on. I used a test light and checked the purple wire all the way to the other side of the run, turn ,stop module. I got no power now. The right signal light comes on but just in run mode,it will not blink for the signal or get brighter when I hit the brakes like the left side did earlier.

I thought about that but why would all the other lights come on. From what I can see there is one fuse for the lights. I checked it anyway and its good. I am crimping the ends on these plugs (no solder) I had the battery connected but the ignition off so no power to the wires I was working on.

Are there other fuses besides the ones under the cover on the left side?

Now Im finding the bike wont start. When I it the run switch I hear the fuel pump run but the yellow light dosent come on and it wont turn over.

The traced the wire (purple signal wire) back to the turn signal security module on the wiring diagram?

Does anyone know where the turn signal security module is on the bike?

I'm doing this same thing right now. While I didn't end up following the idea on this page (scroll to the bottom of page), you might want to start over and wire it like this to simplify things. That info is from one of our forum members (8541hog).
