I commute about a hundred twenty five miles a day and only get about 40 mpg. I've thought about building a very light weight , high geared bike just for riding to work. Wonder if you could get 70 mpg out of a full size Harley.

The performance and cooling benefits of intake, exhaust, and fuel management far outweigh the loss of 6-8 mpg.

I put pipes, AC, and programer on my bike and get the same MPG as I did before the swap. Didn't loose any didn't gain any.

WOW, I guess I should start looking at the price of gas, ever since I got a motorcycle I have never really looked at the price. I figure I need GAS to ride, so I just find a good station (no watered down WaWa or Sheets), pull in, slide the card, fill up and ride off. Of coarse my wife is always getting on me about putting reciepts in, but I never get them, so I have no idea how much I pay to play! Now I just need to add a few ponies to the ride and I will be happier!

I'm still avg in low to mid 40's. If gas goes to $10 a gal I'm not going to start walking at this late date.

I've never gotten better than 40mpg on my 03FXDL stage 1. Now with the new cams I haven't had the chance to see what the new score is.

Most people with motor work drop way more money into a motor, than the difference in mpg would ever amount to.

I don't care about gas mileage in the terms of cost, but it is nice to have a little better range while out wondering around. I like to take off for a few days at a time with out a map, and it has lead me to some pretty long stretches with no gas stations. My old fxstb would go 200 and about 170 is the max on the dyna. That extra 30 miles is a mountain of piece of mind. I have yet to run out but I have found myself watching for houses just in case I need to go try to by gas off someone.

Riding to work just a few times a week during the summer, I can figure I can save close to $500 in gas. With that money I can buy a new tire and some other accessories. Win - Win in my book.
