The Dyna section of this site was a huge help in my decision
to go with the FXDC.I learned from the 2 metrics that I had, that
a lighter weight bike that handled well was best for me.
Well its 5:30 am and I am planning on riding all day if the
dealer can figure out the oil vapor thing and says it is ok to keep riding.I want to get through the break in before the warm temps arrive.
And of course I have already started the mods,I have a set
of hd hi-way bars/pegs and a set of matching mid position pegs.
Also ordered a smoked turn signal kit and grab handles for the
passenger area(for tieing a roll bag to for longer trips).
What I will say to anyone thinking about getting their 1st Harley,is that the craftsmanship is way better with a Harley.
imop.
I can't believe no one metioned that the black and chrome is faster. We are still at zero and 5 feet of ice/snow. I have the same bike but with floor boards. Enjoy the ride.
I like the way those Rush mufflers look on your bike. I was thinking of getting those same ones, so it's nice to actually see how they look on a black SGC. Let us know how you like the sound (or PM me). The tank badges on the 2010 looked like crap, so I yanked mine off. The 2011 style looks much better. I'm sure you will be getting alot of compliments on your bike. It's a looker.
Nice bike man, I just picked mine up on Thursday. I got a black '11 FXDC as well. Mine had 0 miles on the odometer and had "vapor" for the first 20 miles. I think its normal. Maybe its just the newness burning off lol.
