FINALLY got the dough together to get the Thunderheader for my 09 FXDF Fat Bob! Installed myself, put the SE Stage 1 air cleaner, Thunderheader 2 into 1, and Power Commander V. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! Only concern was the lack of a specific map from Dyno Jet for my specific set-up. There IS one, but it's for the 07-08 and is for a PCIII. Currently using the D&D Fat Cat map, and seems to be working, but still cautious, you know? And yes, I know getting it dyno'ed would be best, just unable to do it right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
Once you have a map that is close, you can use the buttons to tweak it. I have a PC III...assume the V has buttons too?
I had a Dyno and everything, but when I switched pipes and injectors (2006 had problems and changed sizes) I didn't want to spend the cash on a dyno tune at the time.
I have Python duals and just used the V&H bigshots map.
It took a little tweaking, but the bike runs just as well as it did with the dyno tune and I was able to get rid of some popping and coughing. In all honesty, it runs so well that I am not going to drop the cash on a tune unless I would go with different cams.
just go online with your laptop and V&H will do the rest! They will take over your puter while you watch them do it! Go to thier site and follow instuctions!
Thanks for the advice! In response: no, the PCV does not have the buttons. All run through the computer/laptop for the adjustments.
And do you mean Dynojet as opposed to V/H? If so, sweet!
It was just a bit concerning that when I called Thunderheader, they said to call Dynojet. When I called Dynojet, it was either the Rinehart, the D&D Fat Cat, or the Dyna Warheader. Went with what I thought was closest, just don't want to hurt my engine. Paranoid maybe. Ha ha
