I read the outher day on this sight about some harleys have a rev limiter do all dynas have this or only some years can someone explaine this it is the first time i have heard about this. thank you very much
I could be mistaken, but I think the rev limiter is built in to the ignition module which is under the seat on the left hand side of most Harleys and is not an actual moving part, if that is what you were getting at. It can be reprogrammed to a higher limit via a software and computer link. Like I said, that's my understanding. When it senses the revs at the preset limit, it momentarily cuts off until the revs fall below the set level.
ECM, Engine Control Module. Chip is programable and stock is set at 5500 RPM's. When you get a stage kit, I, II, or III the chip gets programmend for 6200 R's. Also the PC III reprograms (sets) the chip for more R's
