Is ECM Remapping necessary?
Hello Everyone
Just got my first 06 Wide Glide, it came with Cobra speedster long shots, stage 1 air cleaner and download. But the exhaust has no baffles in it and is LOUD, although I love it the cops don't.
I understand that there is a window that the ecm can adjust itself, my question is if I put the quiet core replacement baffles in, will I have to remap it? I'm only considering the quiet cores because of all reviews saying that is what should have come with the exhaust in the first place.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

So if I understand you correctly it has the factory download no aftermarket programer?
If thats the case then no remaping is possible. Installing a pc-v or similair would be a big improvement, and yes I would install baffles.

Thanks fo the reply TSC, the way I understand it is when the new stuff was put on the dealer remapped the the ecm for the new parts, but if I just add baffles will it need to be redone? I just don't want my pipes discoloring.

The HD download is a 1 size fits all it is not a custom map for the added items.
As stated a PC would help, but is not really required.
Install the baffles, if you do not have decel pop going on now, that should not change, but if it does, then you should look into an actual tuner.
I think you will actually see improvement after installing the BCT QQ baffles.
