Building a custom 2-into-1 set and I am wondering if there would be an issue if the header pipes are (1) different lengths or (2) too short in length?
My rear header pipe is only about 6" before the 'Y' connection and my front header pipe is about 16-18" before the 'Y' connection. The length of the pipe AFTER the 'Y' is about 18". All-in-all a very short/loud set of 2-into-1's.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Negative comments welcome, I don't want to F up my dyna.
From what I understand they can be different lengths after the initial 28" after that point it does not matter. They need a certain length to create the reversion.
Again, I am no expert, this is just what I was told when gathering info to build mine, which is part of the reason I went with a stock head pipe to build mine.
