I was under the impression you should never use syn 3 in the transmision. ( Too Thin) They had withdrawn the three hole statement about their oil when, six speed owners mentioned the gear whine.

check the belt for sure, then get the syn3 outa the trans and use mobil175w90 synthetic gear oil (autozone) or redline shockproof heavy gear oil from www.myoilshop.com
That may not be the best advice. The new 6 speed is a lot differant than the "old" 5 speed. It's like comparing a toploader to a T5.

My bike made a sqeaking noise and I found some loose heat shield clamps. Once they were tightened the noise went away!

My 06 Street Bob made the same sound when I was traveling on the highway especially when it was quite windy (Don't know why) I checked the alignment on my rear wheel and found it was out quite a bit. After I realigned the wheel it seems to have gone away. It never did it prior to having my 8000 km service done by the dealer.

Those services will now only be done by me.

I know of a few people here with 06's that have had this same problem, my FXDWG included. They all ended up being loose brads in the headlight. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced the headlight and no more problem. It would squeel like you wouldn't believe but it only did it above 50mph or so. Yours stops when the engine is killed so it may be something else but there have been several with bad headlight around here.

Just a thought....

My 06 Dyna SB is making a weird high piched squeeking sound while driving. If I turn the bike off and work the fork, it makes no sound. It seems to be coming from the forks, but I am unsure. Could this be the 15K problem we were warned about that needs fixing? I have just under 1200 miles on it and just noticed the problem.
That's the brake dragging the pads. Clean the dust off them with some brake cleaner. If it still does it like mine did they had to clean and lube the pins.
