Default rear fender chop

well i got rear-ended yesterday and the bottom my my fender got rolled in and bowed out. the stealership wants 636 to replace the fender and rear tailight to put the bike back to stock. im thinking of just chopping the fender right about the rear license plate mount and going with a side plate and ditching the taillights. so anybody got some pics of a chopped fender about this length with a side mount tag.

Why not let the 'at fault' driver's insurance pay the dealer to install a new fender, then ask the dealer if you can keep the original damaged fender. I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Then you could do whater ever you wanted with the existing one, when ever you wanted.

Well, it's unfortunate they aren’t a good enough friend to step up and take responsibility for their actions.
It's not costing them anything for letting their insurance company pay for it. That’s what insurance is for.
Sure there will be repercussions between them & their insurance company but in the end they may learn to be more careful when operating a motor vehicle.
I sure hope they will be more careful when they pull up behind the next motorcyclist. Not everyone is as big a hero as you.
Be sure to pass along my thanks to them for watching out for us motorcyclist.

really guys? **** happens it was an accident, i really doubt they meant to hit me and im trying to help the person from having to use insurance so their rate stays low. its a good guy just a shitty situation. they ask me to take the cheapest route, i choose to try and help them out. they have no problem fixing any of it.

Well I guess I've ran myself down a cul-de-sac with no way out.

I’m glad to hear “they have no problem fixing any of it”… It’s always prudent to mitigate damages done in the area of our relationships.

Glad to hear you’ve got good friends. Your willingness to take a hit for the friendship is truly heroic.
No italics used this time… I only use em when I’m bein’ sarcastic.
