I have heard that the Thundermax is a great system with great results.
What throttle bodyand intake did you end up using?
Yes it's a very good tuner. I have one on my bike also.
We used all HD Screamin Eagle Parts on the build.
Intake is Screamin Eagle Pro High Flow and TB is SE 58mm.
Does the Thundermax system smooth the rideability below say 2500 RPM on that 120R??
I know that those engines were reduced in price recently if my memory serves me right. Its a killer deal on a high HP setup.
It's actually a very ridable motor below 2500. Not that bad at all. I wish we had used a different clutch set up rather than the SE race clutch. It's a bitch to pull.
Yeah, I think its the nature of the beast with diaphragm clutches. I been eyeballing the Barnett Scorpion Coil Spring clutch myself..Its not bad on cost either. I run that SE Clutch spring on mine and it was stiff until I got used to it, but its great now.
I wonder how just the outer plate would do? You know the scorpion Coil Spring clutch pressure plate and spring conversion..Its even cheaper.
Very nice work D! It's obvious you laid your touch on this dyna, lol! VERY NICE. Been waiting for somebody to get some time with one of these motors for a while...glad Critter pulled the trigger cause I know we'll get good honest feedback from ya...looking forward to results! Bet he's jazzed like a ****!!!
Oh yeah...that clutch is rough no doubt! Everyone has their opinions on clutches...Barnett works well...I just love the simplicity of the Rivera pro clutch, sweet & simple, just my 2 cents!!!
I run the ET class where the rules are very basic. Your 88 fits in perfectly. I'm not sure where you are but we get real excited down here as this is the closest the series comes to us and we were happy they put a national event on the schedule last year. Anybody near better be at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, LA Sept 17-18 for great all Harley drags!
Man; that's gonna be a deadly combo!!! Dealer up here will sell you an FLTX with a 120R and give warranty...rode one of his for a couple of days; huge power (huge bike)...can't imagine it in an FXD...nice price on those motors, too.
