Default Laydown plate bracket after signal relocation

A question for anyone out there that may know - when I ordered my '06 FXDI, I ordered the detachable saddlebags too. That meant I had to have the rear turnsignals relocated from the side of the fender to a bar (harley factory part) that bolts to the license plate bracket. Now I'm tired of the "barn door" plate bracket and want to get a laydown bracket. Harley sells a combination laydown bracket and turnsignal relocation kit that looks similar to my setup, but of course I've already relocated the signals. They also sell a laydown bracket by itself, but there's no indication whether it's compatible with the turnsignal relocation kit. The bar for the turnsignals goes through the bracket, right were a laydown bracket would be narrower. Does anyone know whether I can use one with the other, that is, the existing relocation mount with the laydown bracket?

Unfortunatly, no. You can't use the relocation kit with a stand alone lay down bracket unless you make some mods. However, it's not rocket science. Just takes a little imagination and some basic fab skills.

I used a J&P lay down bracket and frame. Fabbed some simple corner brackets, and moved the stock lights to the upper corners of the frame. Not real fancy, but looks pretty good and was almost free.

The J & P will do you good.
