Don't take the baffles out!!! I was bored and just took out the stock baffles in my short shots and remapped for it and took it for a ride around the neighborhood, after I warmed it up a bit.
It sounds great at idle. However, that all stops when you start moving. It sounds like loud *** at anything above 1500 rpms and it sounds even worse when you let off the throttle abruptly!!!
I am going to ride over to the store for an errand for wifey just to hear what it sounds like at WOT and then I am putting the stock baffles back in tomorrow morning.
I was always curious what it would sound like without baffles and now I know. Don't do it!!!
thought about it when i first put mine on. really glad i didnt now! Now just want to trade them in and get 2-1s. Short shots are plenty plenty loud and sharp as it is.
Just got back from ripping down the road to the store. It sounds alright at WOT throttle. Very Loud!!! It sounds downright horrible whenever I let go of the throttle. Some nasty reversion sound. This is the very reason to run some type of baffle.
I've had short shots and can honestly say that they were the worst sounding pipes I've owned. I think they sound too tinny with stock baffles.
I installed a set of the "Quiet" baffles and it was the best thing I could do for that pipe.
It gained a little low end torque and it had a nice, deep sound like it should. The quiet baffles don't actually quiet it down, but rather give it a deeper tone, which sounds much better.
