I have a 2002 Low rider that I bought off a guy who had wrecked it the day he bought it. Just had the handle bars bend and a broken triple tree and some other minor things. The main things is the gas tank needs to be replaced because it has dents on every corner of it. I have searched on ebay and similar to find a tank for it with no real luck.
I am wondering if anyone knows what other year tanks will fit my bike? If I have a range of years and models then hopefully I will be able to find something for it that won't break my bank account.
Tanks from the year 1996-2003 Dyna will fit and bolt right up.Low rider tanks are hard to come by used, but can find an FXD tank for cheap, Wideglide tank will fit also, but then will need speedo dash and fuel gauge parts.
96-03 lowrider tank will fit. Wide Glide tank of the same years will work with some modification so you can bolt up your dash.
Good luck man! That is a coveted tank and hard to find, everybody with an FXD or FXDX wants it to swap their gauges to tank mount, just did it myself to my FXDX, took awhile to track down a tank on ebay.
Thanks guys I really appreciate the information. It is also currently VERY purple and am thinking about painting it some BRIGHT yellow! It runs and drives fantastic and I do love it! This is my first HD.
