Default Success!

Closed with the dealer. 2011 FXDC in vivid black being delivered at the end of the week.

The 2 up seat has to go. I dont mind spending the money on a good seat so i want to ask some questions. I'll give you some IMPORTANT info though so that those in the know can give me some solid advice.

I'm 5'7 about 145-150 lbs. I have NO ***. Im talking Hank Hill from King of the Hill if anyones familier...my legs simply end in my back. Over here in Afghanistan i wear "combat suspenders" because it wouldn't be fun to have my belt of 40mm "203" rounds drag my trousers down around my ankles mid firefight. So with that visual here we go...

Am i destined to always be uncomfortable? I really like the Corbin Hollywood Solo. The classic is good looking too but im not into studs or any of that. I like the lower profile look as well. Basically i want a good looking lower profile seat like those mentioned above.

Ive read C&C, Mustang, and Danny Gray also make nice solo seats. Because of my height i don't need anything super wide or that will set me up any higher. I also want something with more than 75 miles of ridablity before my spinal cord (notice i didnt say ***) is begging for mercy.

Anyways, hope thats enough info to furnish a decent bit of advice and i hope it made u laugh. Thanks.

I can't say enough about C&C! They will make it just for you. I'm 6'3" and mine sits me an inch lower & two inches back.
they will move you lower & forward if you want to a comfortable position. also the higher back section if you go with a fastback or sport tour helps keep your back straight.
I can ride til the tanks empty now without any discomfort.

We have similar bikes, similar lack of stud taste and similar lack of rear end padding. I do feel uniquely qualified to offer my suggestion. I run the Mustang Vintage solo, standard version, which is about 12.5 to 13 inches wide, no studs. They have a wide version 15 to 16 inches, we don't need that one. The padding is firm, but comfy. Good luck on your selection. Ride safe. Welcome home, and thank you for serving bro.

Default Positioning..

Thanks for the responses. Clicker how does the mustang sit? Are you any higher? Any farther forward or back, etc. Thanks for your time.

I've read good things about both these seat makers. Im trying to strike that happy medium between good looking and versatile. Im willing to give up a little in the looks department rather than buy a seat for this, a seat for that, and another seat for this other application.

The back of the Mustang provides a better saddle feel than the stock solo mine had from the factory. Placement is a little lower than stock and about the same distance from the tank as I recall. I'm 5'11" but I prefer mid controls for mountain and canyon riding and highway pegs for stretching out on the road.

You will love and not regret the corbin hollywood solo. This thing is the best seat that I have ever owned....I have been through mustang and cc trying to save a little coin so believe me when I say that you will love the Corbin for its looks and comfort. It will work fine on your bike with your size.

Well, there you have it, a plug for all 3 - LOL.

Everyone is different and you'll get a lot of different opinions.
I've never been on a corbin cruiser seat, but had a gunfighter on my katana years ago & my riding buddy swears by the mustang vintage had it on his vtx & v-star. I've put a lot of miles on both those bikes and here's my opinion.

stock HD solo < corbin < stock HD lowrider seat < mustang < C&C
