My stock dunlop got a hole & I put a Metzeler 880 on it two weeks ago. Couldn't be happier!
And get it from www.americanmototire.com
ears now
cheaper than motorcycle-superstore, j&p, or dennis kirk & it was at my house in 4 days.
+1 on americanmototire. Been using them for years now. I've gotten away with reusing tubes in the past, but more likely than not I change them. The heavy rubber tubes from metz or pireli seem to be good for a second remount, but those cheap latex ones you get oem I get rid of first chance.
I used Metz's on my V.Max - evil things they were, never used them since. Obviously a lot more power going down to the rear wheel (145bhp) but any overzealous throttle opening had 'em skittering all over the place - and in the wet, don't even go there!
Just replaced the std Dunlops on the Dyna with Avon Venoms but not got a clue what they're like yet as not used the bike since fitting them. It's going for it's MOT (our annual safety check here in Blighty) on Thurs so when it's back on the road and if I think on, I'll post up what they're like.
Thank for all of the suggestions, I ordered the Metz 880. After looking online and calling everywhere around here I found this shop in Surprise, Arizona called JB Cycle services. They ordered the tires for me today and are going to have them put on by Thursday, for $395. Not to bad, I called harley and they wanted $516 for the OEM dunlops and if I got them online I was looking at about $300 for both tires and shipping, then I would have to find somewhere to have it done and everywhere was about $60 - $80 a tire.
I was going to go metz, but i put a bridgestone 180 on my fat bob and loved how it felt so i decided to get more bridgestones exedra max this time 150 up front, 200 in the back....

Excellent choice, I always liked & used the Bridgestone BTs on my touring bikes as thye give excellent grip both wet or dry and they don't wear out too quickly - but they're not available in the Dyna sizes here in the UK. I had a little foray into the world of dual compound Pirelli Corsas a while back which I have to say were just incredible on my Honda VFR (interceptor to you guys). I'd have carried on using them if I hadn;lt gone the Harley route after the Honda. The Avon Venoms are highly rated for the H-Ds here in the UK and after just getting back from my first ride on them (to the MOT test station - we passed! ) first impressions are very good, I'll know more when they've scrubbed up a bit more.
