Default Quieter please

I just bought a Dyna with V & H Straight Shots with stock baffles. I see Bike Bandit has Quiet Inserts (with fiberglass) for these pipes. Has anyone used these baffles and are they much quieter? Are they easy to install? Thanks for any comments,
Jim

I don't have V&H, but I do have experience with aftermarket supplied baffles and their quiet version.

My stage 1 engine was reasonably quiet with my Bubs 2-1, but when it was built it was extremely loud. I pulled and packed the baffles, but it didn't make that much of a difference. I ordered their $25 quiet baffle and they are so much better. Their fiberglass packing looks just like what I used, but the baffle design must be a lot more efficient in quieting the noise. If I wanted to get a few more decibles out of my new quiet baffles I could always remove some of the packing, but I'm pretty happy with them as is.

I had V&H Sideshots and they were kinda loud, I put in the BCT QQ"S and it helped but it was still a little too loud, I did the Supermeg and problem solved.

Could you elaborate on the baffles you mention?

I believe that Paul is talking about an entire $900 exhaust system with Supertrap baffle disks. Very adjustable for sound. If I need to get any quieter, that is the route I'll take.

V&H also make the "quiet baffles" for the straightshots. Sometimes you can pick them on the cheap on fleabay.

Depends on what you want. I put the quiet V&H baffles in a set of long shot pythons. It went from insane loud to just too loud. Also the bottom end range was crap with either baffle as compared to the stock which feeds both mufflers. Guess it may have more power above 3.5-4K but I never run much past 3500. They do look good hanging on a wall however.
