looking for an easy/temporary way to put a jockey shift on my bike. hurt my left foot and cant shift with it.
i have mid controls and thinking about doing something like this in the picture
ill just grab clutch with my left hand reach over with right and shift it.
beats the hell out of shifting with my heel. cuz that hurts.
but gotta make due until this bad boy heals up. and i am supposed to be going to thunder beach rally this weekend so i gotta get it going today so idont miss out'
any one have any pics. ideas or anyone who sells something like this. or am i gonna have to get a rod welded to my shift lever?
You could do what youre thinking, but I dont think youll be happy with the throw at the shift ****. I suspect you'll be in the 8"+ range forward and back on the shifter which could put you in a nasty situation. The aftermarket tank shifters use the horn mount as the pivot point, which reverses the upshift and downshift at the shifter. It also reduces the length of throw to something more acceptable.
It also could be the Drew referenced to by Steve-O is Dr V-Twin. He runs a La Briola setup on his and is downright slick.
Here is my setup, and I am Drew. I rarely post in this section as someone is always riding my *** here. La Briola tank shifter and foot clutch. Don't expect this stuff to show up over night, it is more like over a month or two.
