Mine shows 250 to 260 after every ride with 85 to 90 degree temps outside.
Good to know. I am just curious on engine temps. Mine said 300 yesterday when i got back from a ride. Well i dont have a digital temp oil guage. I hooked my bike up to my pcv with my laptop. There is where i saw temps of 300. Hope to hear from others on engine temps after a ride.

The engine temp you're seeing with your laptop hooked up to the PC V is most likely the head temp sensor ... it is reading the sensor located at the rear of the front head ... you can see the boot over the sensor behind the horn ....
The engine temp sensor will likely read a little higher than the oil temp since the oil circulates throughout the motor and oil pan ... and has a chance to cool down a bit in the baffling system in the oil pan and dissipate some heat through the short fins on the bottom of the oil pan ....
I have some data on readouts from my engine temp sensor that I've read from my ThunderMax ECM module ....
On the right side graph below ... shows that about 20% of the time my bike has been running above 248 degrees ... 99% of the time running below 312 (although I do have a couple of data points above that temp) ....
Live in Florida. During cooler months the temp reads in the 240 range when bike is hot at end of ride. In summer, it has been up to 270 or so. Never over 300. I heard these newer bikes will shut down if that hot but could be a rumor.
My Fatbob in the California desert near Palm Springs when it was 115 degrees read on the digital dipstick gauge...270. Never been higher than that.
I run Amsoil 20w50 synthetic, if that matters.
In the winter (mid teens to mid twenties) mine gets up to about 205-210 after highway riding.
During the summer it was more like 260-270. But that's gone down to 230-240 after I installed the O2 IEDs.
Sitting in traffic I've gone as high as 300 with no issues. My other bike (air-cooled Ducati) has gotten to about 340, also with no issues. My previous cruiser also crept up to but not past 300 (Yamaha Warrior) for the head temperature, and about 60 below that for the oil temperature. Its ceramic cylinder walls probably had something to do with the cooler temps.
