Default New 2011 Wide Glide

I picked up my new Wide Glide last night. In the end, the black with flames looked best to me. I took delivery with 2 miles on the odometer. The twenty mile ride home felt a little like killing a unicorn... but awesome.

Going from a Sporty to a Dyna is incredible. The ride was smooth and the skinny front tire handled better than I would have expected in the twisties. The service manager told me that sixth gear was really only useful for highway riding, as 60 mph would still feel like I was lugging. I found some truth in that. Although, the manual says to shift into sixth at fifty-five...

I spoke to the dealer about exhaust and what I could get away with in this area (I moved here three years ago, and in my last location even drag pipes weren't a problem). The consensus was that as long as you don't drive like an idiot, you'll be fine. Apparently the Vance Hines pipes aren't really that popular here. So, I plan to put on some Big Radius pipes. I know that everyone has 'em and they've become a cookie cutter part, but they look like they were made specifically for the Wide Glide.

All in all, I love this thing...

I've had mine for two weeks, and I love it! I wish I worked "in town" so I could have put a lot more miles on it. Right now it has 164 miles on the clock.

You need to post some pics of your new bike!

Here's mine:

I have some wrenching to do when I get home. I've ordered a new black finned derby cover and timing cover. I have Rush slip-ons on the way, a rear turn-signal and license plate relocation bracket, saddle bags and mounts, floor-boards, SE Stage 1 air cleaner, Power Commander V tuner with Auto Tune, and a few other goodies at home, just waiting for me to install them.

I also plan to order a pair of black Progressive shocks (stock height), and remove the front fork reflectors and frame decals. It's a work in progress, but I love it stock, too.

ETA: I have a 16" pointed sissy-bar and pad on order, as well.

I think the 2010 and 2011 FXDWG's are mighty fine bikes!

I bought mine in Feb 2011. Just broke 300 miles. I am continuing with the blacked out theme. I just sent out a few parts to be powder coated. Cant wait to get them back. I really do enjoy this bike. I had a '01 Low Rider. This bike with it's 96 ci engine is like a power machine. It also is FI as compared to the carb on the Low Rider. This bike is very quick and nimble. I also ride a 2003 Heritage Springer. Two bikes with two total different rides... Good luck and ride safe.........

I put the V&H big radius on my 2011 Wide Glide. I love my bike. Now it sounds like it should. Here is a pic:

Have a 2011 FXDWG as well and have just started modding it. Next up either slip-ons or exhaust. I totally have mod-addiction
