No Second Thoughts....
So did 1,500 plus this weekend and couldnt have asked for more perfect weather or a better weekend. Yeah i look about like a Tomato but it was worth every mile....Felt so good to cross the Texas border and pull that helmet off.....Yeah maybe i should have put some sun block on, but a little late now.....
Anyway, of course no windshield on the bike, so face gets pretty weathered and beat up etc..... Well get back last night, scrub off grime and hit the bed.....Get up this morning, scrub some more grime off, jump on the bike and head to work.....
First thing the boss says to me is wow your red, and why would you want to ride to work today after all that riding this weekened?.................
Ummmmmmmmm????? Never thought about it???? Its going to be 90 and sunny today? Is there really any reason not to ride???? Wasnt a second thought.....
So i set here thinking about it now. Yeah last year i might have been sore after that trip....Now, after 2 months of trying to get in shape....I can actually FEEL the fruits of my labor.....It does help to be in shape.....
So, while on this ride, met with a lot of Brothers.....A lot of Street Glides, Ultras, etc.....Started thinking really hard......I want one, but i dont....I want both, but i cant.....I want to keep my W.G...but man a Street Glide sure would be nice sometimes.....BLAH! maybe in a few years.....
On one note.....My wife did ride out on Friday and met me in East Texas. Im a proud hubby. Rode 400 miles from MS to TX by herself on her Street Bob to meet me. Shes a keeper!!!
So, to make this thread actually have a point, how many of you "take a bike break" after a bike trip? especially those riding shieldless?
And, how many have been fat and started to get back in shape and noticed the fatigue and soreness improvement?
And how many are the proud hubby or a wife who rides their own solo through 3 states.........
Ok, rambling over with! Happy Freaking Monday........

i dont understand the bike break thing. the more i ride the more i want to ride. my wife rides behind me. she laughs when we get cought in the rain. she goes when she want and lets me go when she doesn't.
LOL - good rambling!
Ride brake? Does not compute. I ride to work every day and at least one weekend day all "riding season" I ride my bike so much I forget the gear ratio in my FJ, because I am so used to the bike.
Wife and I ride 2-up whenever I am not going to work. We've done 500mile+ days and did a 2400mile roundtrip on my old sporty 883 a few years back. Riding to Canada and then down to Sturgis this summer. Should be a good one.
Always stayed in shape, so never had an issue to date in that regard.

My Dyna is pretty much able to be set up like a Street Glide (batwing fairing, hard saddlebags and floorboards) ... although as I mentioned on another thread, I've been riding bare chested over about the last month now ....
I took an alternate route to visit family in the DC area (Arlington) Friday ... so, approached 600 mi from Friday morning commute to Monday morning commute ... did a poker run starting out Friday morning at Ft Eustis VA as part of an Armed Forces Motorcycle Ride and Rodeo ... then, down to a checkup at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth VA ... then decided to take an alternate route to Arlington by way of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel and Hwy 13 up the Eastern Shore and Maryland ... came into DC from the East on Hwy 50/301 from Annapolis ... rode through DC up to Georgetown and across the Key (Francis Scott Key) Bridge to Arlington .... On the trip back to Yorktown, I rode I-66W to Hwy 28 and stopped in Manassas to meet a friend, then rode down 28 to Hwy 17 and rode 17 in to Newport News for dinner then home via Hwy 143 ...
Then rode in to work this morning ... no 'bike break' for me ... weather was pretty good this weekend ... ran into rain late Friday evening ... but was expecting it and had my rain gear on ....
