Sometimes things don't work out with e.bay purchases. I saw a pair of straight 4" risers for sale a couple of weeks ago so bought them - £30 - seemed like a bargain. That was until they arrived and they turned out to be some kind of home made things - not a bad job but they're made out of solid steel and pretty damned heavy. They's also been shot blasted and then left out somewhere with no protective coating so were quite pitted in parts.
I wasn't going to use them, but after temp fitting to the bike and trying them they gave a nice comfy riding position. Anyway - I decided to use them until I find something a bit lighter so painted them up and fitted them permanent. Not tried them on the road yet - the weather here has turned back into typical "Brit mode" - i.e wet 'n windy! Photo attached
Just waiting for some saddlebags to arrive - wonder what they'll be like
Andy, yes I made the signal mounts myself early last year, I put up pics of them back then. I've since made some for the rear to match which sit the signals further back so I can get the new bags I've just bougtht on there.
Hi B.D - yes I did that and the risers with some paint left over from doing the wheels. I'm blacking out most of the bike as I go, leaving just bits of chrome - I love black and chrome. The risers aren't actually that good a job, I only slapped the paint on, they're not staying on there for long so it wasn't worth spending too much effort on them.
