Electrical Issue!!
So, a few weeks ago I disconnected my rear turn sigs and relocated the left one to my plate mount and completely removed my right one. I ran the bike this way for about a week. Every time my ignition was turn on I would get my right turn indicator on telling me that I had a light out (normal seeing as to the light wasn't there). So a week later I reinstalled the light. When I would turn the ignition on the right sigs turn on at full brightness and the turn indicator would be on, then within a 10-20 seconds the right indicator and the sigswould flash for about 10-20 seconds and then everything went to normal. I thought that maybe the wiring got messed up so I unplugged both rear turn sigs and swapped them to see if it was the wiring to the rear right sig that was meesed up. But when I switched the plugs, the samething happened only it was the right front sig/right turn indicator (same as before) but the left turn sig (because I swapped connections). This tells me that the issue is not at the turn sig, but within the main harness (never touch other then to install the STT module a year ago, no issues until it removed the light for a week a few weeks ago). When I installed the LED's last week, the same thing continued to happen, so I know it's not the lights, unless there is an issue with the front right turn sig (also, never touched).
Does any one know why this could be happening? Or what I can do to troubleshoot it?

Kind of a question and suggestion at the same time:
Since they're LED's, is it possible they're not drawing enough power which leaves the system to believe a bulb is out?
I realize you had them installed before, but seeing as I had LED turn sigs in the past and they did not require me to use a Load Equalizer, and seeing how I've read other people's account where they needed a Load Equalizer... obviously not everything is equal.

Yea, it's not the LED's! It started happening with the OEM lights. As I stated, I removed the right rear turn sig (stock one) for about a week and the reinstalled it. No problems before I removed the rear right sig, just after I reinstalled it.
I am wondering if it has something to do with the alarm system! I might disconnect the battery and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes and then connected it back up and let the computer reset itself. This might reset the alarm system. Maybe the light being off triggered something in the system telling the computer and alarm that the bike was tampered with.
I might try and shot a video of it and post it (my first video post, how exciting).

So after many, many hours of searching I found out how to do a self diagnostics on the bike. I got a B1124 code which says the rear right turn sig is shorted to ground. I reset it and it went away. A little later I restarted the ignition and samething again. this time the code was B1126 which say the right rear turn sig is shorted to battery, so I reset it again to clear the code. Everything was fine then this morning the sig acted up again. I have not checked the code again yet. But it looks like I am going to have to do some tracing to find where it the short is, I am hoping its not in the STT module.

Morning blueangle, A question for you as it seems to be the right sig causing your problems. How did you remove the sig? Did you disconnect the wires from the connector in the tail light, or did you cut them? Somewhere you have a bad connection which is probably how the light was removed. If you cut the wires check the splice connection you made, if you removed the pins from the connector verify that they are installed correctly and making a good electrical connection. It is probably something very simple. Always retrace your steps as it is usually something you did or didn't do, I know cause I have been there and done that....
When I removed the old lamps the first time, I unplgged them and removed them from the bike, no cutting needed. I did need to cut and resplice them with the new way I ran them. This problem started then with the OEM lamps. I checked all the connections and everything looked fine. I always splice with a crimp connection and then heat shrink tubing over that for a water tight seal. I started trouble shooting it then, and when I got my LEDs I figured that maybe the issue would be resolved when I installed all ne wires from the connectors at the STT Module to the lights. The pic below is how I have it wired. Everything from the connectors where the TruFLEX dual connectors are put in to the LEDs is all new and have good connections. I would be lead to believe that it would be the connectors or wires if it wasn't for the fact that when I switch the plugs on the rear lamps from right to left and left to right, either connector that gets plugged into the right output from the STT has this problem. I will have to look and make sure there are no issues with the STT or the main harness.
I would start with the STT and check for proper power and ground there. There is a harness that runs along the inside of the fender and it is known to sometimes pop free from it's wire loom and get beaten up by the rear tire. I would check that out as well. Personally I would not use crimp connectors on my bike. I had experienced electrical issues many many years ago on my first Harley. I will only solder and use shrink tubbing now if I have to splice any wires. I usually disassemble the connectors and remove the wires, much easier than cutting and splicing.....

I went out during lunch today and disconnected all my rear connections and took a good look at them inside and out. While I had them disconnected I reset the code and started the bike and let it run for about 5 minutes. I then connected each connector and ran the ignition cycle between each hook up. No warning light at all after everything was reconnected again. I let the bike sit for an hour and went back out there to see if it maybe came back somehow. Lucky so far, everything seems to work as it should. Maybe it was just a bad connection between the connectors. I will ride it home later and let it sit then try it again. If all is good, I will getting the iron out and picking up some new solder and flux and get this connected properly.

Good deal.... Glad to hear you have it solved (hopefully).... Never did trust those crimp connectors on bikes....always took the time to solder and shrink wrap....Good luck and let me know how it goes....
Well I feel like a dumb *** after all this time and tearing thing apart and putting them back together. It all came down to a light bulb that was put into the front right turn sig
. I pulled both of the lamps and noticed that they were different. So I switched them and guess what the problem also switched sides. When I got home I replaced the bulb giving me the possible problem and the problem went away.
Now I just need to make the connections on the rear lights final by soldering them together!!!
