I would like to put a Wide Glide Black Sissy Bar and the black fender supports on an 09 Fat Bob without changing the rear fender. Any help appreciated....
im pretty sure the sissybar will fit the fatbob... but by supports do you mean the fender struts? those are part of the frame... you can remove your strut covers and the remaining struts will be black...
The fender is a direct bolt on, which means the strut covers and sissy bar are also direct bolt ons. Like Mike said, the struts under your FB chrome strut covers are allready black but a little utilitarian in apperance. If you want smooth black then you will the need the WG strut covers. Also your turn signals will need to be relocated as the longer strut cover on the FB is where the turn signal is mounted, that being said there will now be a hole in the FB fender where the turn signal is now, OR you could mount the turn signal directly to the fender in the same hole sans the strut cover. MANY options there.
If you want black strut covers, why not just paint your chrome ones? I bet the epoxy (appliance) paint would look good in that spot and it's cheap.
Unless of course you're one of the lucky ones who in this economy has money to throw away on a new set of black covers.
You could find the "epoxy paint" how-to posted by jrk (joe the powder pro) located within this forum. Would be much easier because you can easily remove your chrome strut covers from the bike.
