Default Kickstand HELP!

Alright,

So I've lowered the rear of my bike and with the stock kickstand it was almost straight up. Plan on ordering the slammer kit for the front end and I know its going to work with the stock kickstand.

I ordered the kick stand for 06-10 Dyna's off of JP Cycles and installed it, but its hitting the outer primary.

I've heard people using there stock kickstand with some modification BUT I need to know how to modify it. People say they shaved off 1/2 inch but WHERE is the question I have!

I don't remember the guy's name, he was European, he posted a how-to on this. There is a little tab where the kickstand mounts to the bike. You shave this tab down to changle the kickstand angle. Hop on the floor and take a look. You'll probably figure it out faster than you'll find the thread.

Drag Specialties offers a 1" lowered kickstand for the Dyna, that is supposed to be real good (from what I have Heard).

My WG is lowered 2.0" front & 1.5" rear and it sat up freakin straight! A small gust of wind could have blown it over....I removed my stand and cut 3/16" from the tab. I dont think cutting anymore then that would help, on mine the stand would be hitting the frame if I removed any more material. It helped a little...... My buddy installed the Arlen Ness kick stand on his 2010 SG and you cant lower the stand with your foot! He needs to reach around with his hand to get it out from behind the primary. My next trick will be to heat it with torch and just plain old bend it.

Why is it that I cut the tab on my kickstand but now it doesn't even touch the frame? The kickstand bottoms out before the tab can even come in contact and my lean angle still sucks. Any suggestions? Thanks

I wondered the same thing! I bought the drag specialties kickstand and had to bend the tab down alittle for it to clear the primary!

AGH! The trails of making the bike look BAD A$$!

looking at doing slammer kit front and rear was wondering about the lean as well guess it depends on how comfortable you are with the lean may try to Drag stand.

Besides the fact that it is now standing near vertical, all it takes is a slow leak in the tire to make that bike fall over in the dark of the night, right into your wife's prized Camaro.

That is really funny of you to say.. My bike actually shares a garage with my bride to be's Camaro. That is creepy, and funny! I tried the kickstand modification but did not like the results. I went ahead and ordered a -1 stand from eBay. Hopefully it will be here by Monday next week.
