Burning oil

Default Burning oil
I was on a ride this past weekend (thru the mtns of Korea--great ride) and the guy behind me noticed I was smoking a bit. I checked the oil, and it was about a half quart low. Last time I changed the oil was about 2 months ago--around 500 miles. What are the possible problems? I have no noticible power loss. Below are some particualars:
05 Dyna lowrider
Big sucker intake
V&H 2 in one propipes
she also has an oil cooler installed

Hate too break the news to you but, some 05's had bad valve guide seals, actually the wrong ones, installed at factory. Had mine replaced on the MOCO's dime back in 06. The heads have to come off. Replace the zinc rocker box bolts with the chrome ones, cleans up the top boxes real nice. The new seals are orange in color andd carry a part number of 18094-02A could be newer by now but it's a start.

The 05 valve seals issue.
Mine was repaired under warranty or recall, not sure which now, but was a 1 day job at the dealer. Take it to a dealer and have them check it out.

I'm not sure if the South Korean Harley dealer will help out. Is it bad to ride until I can get her fixed?

BTW, what all will I need to change out? I assume seals, rings, head gasket...

It's my understanding if you get a valve guide seal in wrong, crooked, it will leak. Thers probably a special tool to press out/in the valve guide seals. The bike is rideable, just watch your oil level. I'd keep some extra plugs on hand in case they decide to foul out.
