Default Dyna Outcast

I clicked on the Franklin Mint ad for harley Davidson pocket knives. They had Road King knives, Softail Knives, Sportster knives... no Dyna knives.

I wouldn't have bought one anyway. They were stupid looking knives

The Dyna line is shrinking. The HD catalogue seems to have more cool parts for the other families. Even the Sportster. Dynas seem to be the outcast of the HD families, but the model that I'm most attracted to. I wonder what that says about us as Dyna owners?

I've always enjoyed being the redheaded step child of the family. It makes us different. Like fxd03 says: Better the reason to keep them.

IMHO the dealers are pushing the bagger types to the RUB types for the extra cash they'll get out of the sale. It appears the Dynas will be there for those who want the icon of a Harley Davidson.

I don't know what owners of the other families are like, but Dyna owners tend to make their own stuff. Now, that may be because of the lack of off-the-shelf stuff. But, I like to think of it as Dyna owners are craftier fellas.

Agreed, mostly baggers here where I live, and a few soft tails, I can count the dynas on one hand, it's nice to have a unique ride. I have very little seat time on the other models but I will never get rid of my Fat Bob even if I get another bike.

Same thing down here were I live. Not alot of Dynas here, mostly Ultras, Baggers, and Soft tails. Its nice being the select few.

They wont stop making the Dyna. I agree there are fewer off the shelf parts but only cuz we make our own. Other than pipes and air cleaner, I've made or modified everything on my bike in my garage.
