I don't know what owners of the other families are like, but Dyna owners tend to make their own stuff. Now, that may be because of the lack of off-the-shelf stuff. But, I like to think of it as Dyna owners are craftier fellas.
Indeed, we are the blue collar workers!
Sportster=I want a motorcycle but cant afford a big one yet and don't want a rice burner
Dyna=I work hard, can make my own stuff and deserve to have a little fun. (the class that is slowly slipping into the unemployement status, hopefully our next administration can change that)
Softail=I manage a few people, but I'm not old enough to go touring model yet!
Dresser=I manage a good amount of people and I am old enough to go see the country in comfort.
CVO=I have to much money and need to find ways to spend it!

I wouldn't have bought one anyway. They were stupid looking knives
The Dyna line is shrinking. The HD catalogue seems to have more cool parts for the other families. Even the Sportster. Dynas seem to be the outcast of the HD families, but the model that I'm most attracted to. I wonder what that says about us as Dyna owners?
