Great looking bike.
If you don't go 2 up then ditch the seat and get a solo seat with back support.
look at the Danny Gray big seat, so glad I bought that one.
Put them stock bars on.
nothing beats fowards, no need to shift your legs around for comfort
they are. I use extented pegs and just slide my feet over on the highway for a great comfortable ride. When you need to shift or break your right there. No cramping at all.

Forwards are a little lower than highway pegs I have seen. Might make all the difference.

I would say put the stock bars on sit on the bike with your feet on the highway pegs and adjust the bars till you feel comfy and take it for a ride then it will tell you if you want forward controls or not, you can always get bars you like when you find out where is best you might have to adjust the bars a couple of times to get them right for you ( I had to) now I can ride all day. I never ride with out forward controls once you get used to them you never go back

Thanks for all the advice from everyone. I'll start with the stock bars since that will cost nothing and try the other seat. I think the forward controls are a good idea but take it one step at a time.

I just got the forward controls installed last weekend. They are not the same position as the highway pegs. They are a little lower. It makes a big difference for me. I am a little over six feet and 242 lbs. The seat is not the best. Also I had to rock the stock apes forward a bit to feel better. They say that they are 8"by the way. Not sure how they measure those.

That is one beaut of a bike, I think you got the badlander seat installed on it.

Did you get the stock seat with the deal too? Might try swapping them out if you did and see how it fits you.

I have a '10 Street bob, with the stock bars, and the deep HD 2up Touring seat. I have moved the bars foward and back twice now to get a comfortable position. I am sure if I change the seat out to a solo seat, I will have to readjust the bars.

Thank you,
I didn;t get the stocl solo seat. It came with another 2 rider seat that is shown in the 1st and 2nd picture of the ad. I want a solo set too because i like the look of it. I like the looks of the badlander seat better but I got a feeling it will be replaced. I like the looks of the stock bars and will be changing back to those anyway.

These guys aren't listening to you but I am. EVERYBODY is different in the way a bike feels to them.
Leave the foot controls and highway pegs where they are, for now. Just change out your handlebars for something that is more pulled back, then you can decide from there.

Good luck,
Mike.

forward controls are lower and closer by, i believe, 1 & 1/2 inches.

so if you get forwards, maybe the 2" extended forward will help you.
That's what i'll be getting when i have the money.

i see your problem, the seat.

badlander seats might look coll, but are terribly uncomfortable for most people for any decent amount of distance.

If you like that low profile style, look into the fastbacks (C&C and Mustang).
