Not sure if this has been done on here. I like the look and idea of the licks brands solo dyna bag but not the price. So when looking on eBay at tool bags I thought hey I could mount that in the same spot as the licks on the left side swing arm. They are close in size and would be nice and compact yet I could carry my lunch and not in my jacket for 35 miles!! What do you guys think? Good idea or just ****ing crazy lol. Here are a few I wanted to try.
You could mount the tool bag to the rear struts (using strap between fender and struts). I do that. I believe it's called a Tilly bag when mounted like that.
The bag on the left is a solo bag, the bag on the right is my tool "tilly" bag.
I don't recall the size, but I got it from Fox Creek. You just have to make sure the straps slots on the back of the bag allow the straps to go vertical (vs horizontal for a tool bag strapped to the forks).
Zip ties may scratch paint. If your bag doesn't come with leather straps, go to a leather repair/shoe repair store and get some leather strips from them.

Leather straps are just as bad...my struts are down to bare metal in spots from my solo bags.
